Advocacy Victory

ADVOCACY VICTORY! The "Thriving Families Resolution" unanimously passed the Board of Legislators last night. We hope you will click below and read the entire resolution, but the key is that the Families Task Force will be developing strategies and programs to ensure more of Westchester's families have access to the high quality housing, child care/after school care, employment and job training, schools and home supports, transportation, and medical and mental health services in our county.

A big THANK YOU to the families of Westchester who shared their thoughts and ideas, and to the members of the Families Task Force and the Board of Legislators.

"The Families Task Force heard from families of every description that Westchester has much to offer,” said Families Task Force Co-Chair Kathy Halas, Executive Director of the Child Care Council. “We also heard about their hopes for their own families and how Westchester could provide even more opportunities that would ultimately strengthen the entire community. Adoption of the Thriving Families Resolution is a powerful recognition that the voices of the families were heard and an affirmation of the fundamental importance of strong families to Westchester County’s future."
