| Past Events RALLY 4 KIDS
May 6th, 2010 in downtown White Plains
The Child Care Council was a co-sponsor of the lively Rally 4 Kids on May 6th in downtown White Plains, along with the Westchester Children’s Association and the Westchester Early Childhood Directors Association and other members of the newly formed Action 4 Kids, a coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to protect and preserve crucial public investments in children and youth.

Nearly 200 child care professionals, parents, youth development organizations and consumers, nonprofit agencies, advocates and concerned citizens turned out to support funding for children and youth as a priority for a strong Westchester County. Cora Greenberg, Executive Director of the Westchester Children’s Association, welcomed the audience, many of whom marched from the Council’s Westchester Early Care and Education Conference at the Westchester County Center. Other speakers on the program included Jessica Grimm, Director of Youth Services, Family Ties of Westchester; Orvil Matthews, former Westhab consumer and current volunteer; Janeelia Henry, parent of a child attending Mount Vernon Day Care, Inc.; Cornell “Lord Judah” Carelock, with H.I.P.H.O.P.; Jerry Morrissy, Board member of the Ossining Children’s Center and retired General Foods executive; Diana Lopera, parent and staff member of the Ossining Children’s Center; Charlotte Bilski, Westchester Youth Council and Kathy Halas, Executive Director of the Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc.
