The Westchester County Board of Legislators’
public hearing on child care funding
held at the Westchester County Center
July 29th, 2010 in downtown White Plains

The Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc. helped get out a large crowd to voice support for child care at the July 29th public hearing convened by the Westchester County Board of Legislators Committee on Community Services. Hundreds came out to voice their concerns about the recent cuts to child care financial assistance. Executive Director Kathy Halas thanked the legislators for their long support of child care and urged them to “continue to make thoughtful and substantial investments in young children and a healthy and strong future for this wonderful county”. The audience included parents, religious leaders, early care and education professionals, municipal officials, child care center board members, children’s advocates and concerned citizens.
