Accreditation

National Association for the Education of Young Children,
(NAEYC) Accreditation

Ensuring high quality and developmentally appropriate practices in child care centers improves the educational outcomes for young children. NAEYC administers a national, voluntary, professionally sponsored accreditation system to help raise the quality of all types of early childhood programs.. Accreditation benefits parents, children, and program staff.

The process includes:
Extensive self-study based on the Academy’s Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programs.
A site visit to the program by a team of trained volunteer validators.
A three-member committee of experts in child care reviews the validated self study, including the program director’s responses to the validation visit.
The program is judged to be in substantial compliance with the Academy’s Criteria and grant accreditation for a three-year period.
