Today's business environment is more challenging than ever before, requiring productive and dedicated employees. Finding the balance between work and personal life is important, not only to your employees, but also to your company. Employees worried about family care situations may be preoccupied with their concerns, unfocused on their jobs, or even forced to be out of the office.

The Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc. has been a local leader in dependent care services for over 15 years. Our child and elder care referral services offer a unique, low-cost benefit for your current and prospective employees- especially important in recruiting and retaining valuable staff.

Enhanced Resource & Referral Service for Employers

The Child Care Council of Westchester's enhanced child and elder care resource and referral services provide in-depth, individualized information to your employees. Your employees will work directly with a local specialist who has knowledge of the providers, services, costs and regulations that make up the dependent care delivery system. As a result, your employees are saved time as well as frustration and receive the support and information they need.

Expert Guidance in finding Child Care
It's hard to know what to look for when trying to find quality child care. Our child care specialists discuss the individual needs of families, and then explain the care options available to them. We educate them on what to look for in quality child care. We search our computerized database to find the providers in the tri-state area who most closely match those individual needs. The programs are then called to see if they have an opening for your employee's child. Ongoing support is provided to your employees thoughout their search for care.

Assisting When Older Relatives Need Care
We can help your employees learn about care not only for their parents, but also older relatives and adults with special needs in their extended families. Elder care services include information and referrals on: Medicare and Medicaid, Nursing homes, legal and financial services, adult day care, volunteer opportunities, meals on wheels, home health care information and more. Ongoing support is provided to your employees throughout their search
for adult services.

How will your employees benefit from the services?

Access to Local Experts

It's our belief that your employees will benefit most from speaking directly to local experts. These are specialists who live and work in the areas where your employees will need services. They know the local communities, the commuting patterns, how to access public subsidies and what special services are available for special needs children and disabled adults. Working with local, community-based resource and referral agencies our corporate child care service includes referrals to child care programs in the entire metro New York area including: the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Rockland and Dutchess, southern Connecticut, Northern New Jersey and the 5 New York City boroughs. Elder care services are provided in partnership with local agencies throughout the country with an expertise in that area.

As an employer, you will have the benefit of our child and elder care specialists being available to introduce themselves to your employees and present information about their services at your work site- a particular advantage when a referral service is a new employee benefit. They can participate if your company has a benefits or health fair or a special event such as a camp fair. And they can present seminars on topics of interest to your employees.

Up to Date Information
The child and elder care referral agencies maintain their own databases of providers, using an automated information system that supplies far more than a name, address and phone number. Your employees will receive information about providers' days and hours of operation, fees, meal services provided, activities offered, training of the caregivers, transportation services, eligibility requirements and more.

Time Saving Assistance
The child and elder care referral services save busy employees from the frustration of negotiating the maze of providers, services, costs and regulations. The Dependent care specialists educate your employees, help them define their needs and then do the necessary research and legwork to provide them with profiles and referrals that are tailored for each employee's situation and individual needs. Employees can call at any time to ask questions or request additional information.
