Job Title: Infant/Toddler Specialist
Program Name: Child Care Council of Westchester
Responsibilities include:
- Provide workshop training and on-site technical assistance to providers, potential providers and child care staff on best practices in serving infants and toddlers and address issues they or regulatory staff have identified in their program. Utilize written improvement plans or learning contracts and document outcomes from visitation.
- Respond to site specific referrals for technical assistance/training from OCFS licensors & CCRR registrars
- Maintain and submit all necessary paperwork including statistics, monthly activity reports, individual TA contracts with directors/providers and training summaries
- Liaison with the other New York State Regional Infant-Toddler specialists at monthly telephone meetings, and annual or bi-annual in-service trainings
- Attend periodic statewide trainings
- Participate in monthly telephone meetings with the other Infant-Toddler Specialists in Region 6 in order to coordinate activities, track milestones completed, and other matters of import to the Region 6 ITRC
- Publicize the availability of the ITRC, and promote services to early care and education providers, Region 6 OCFS manager, supervisors, and licensers, policy makers and the broader public
- Assist with the ongoing development of a regional Theory of Change work plan. Participate with the ongoing analysis of results and measurement of regional outcomes.
- Keep current with best practice information, developmentally appropriate practices and curricula, child care regulations and other research findings related to infants and toddlers. Participate in ongoing professional development activities
- Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Early Childhood or related field
- Demonstrated expertise in the area of infant-toddler development, project management and program development
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience in managing a complex project with multiple partners
- Documented experience in the design and delivery of training to early childhood service providers, including those serving infants and toddlers, including home-based providers
- Ability to attend periodic, statewide trainings
- A car, valid driver’s license and insurance.
