The Council is delighted to introduce an exciting new series for family and group family providers that covers all the important business details that can make or break a family child care business: budgeting, recordkeeping, money management, insurance, taxes, retirement planning and more. Tom Copeland, the nation’s foremost expert on the business side of family child care, will be featured in six webinars at the Council. The participants will also have opportunities to ask specific questions in follow up sessions.
Last fall, Tom Copeland delivered a lively and informative seminar to providers on good business practices and how it relates to QUALITYstarsNY, our state’s new quality rating improvement system. Participants were so enthusiastic about Mr. Copeland’s workshop, they asked the Council to bring him back – and we have!
Funded by the Westchester Community Foundation, this series of financial literacy webinars will also help participants prepare for the QUALITYstarsNY standards that deal with financial management.

The first webinar will take place during the week of February 22nd. Information to follow on subsequent dates for the series.
