Breakfast of Champions … and Joey Award Winners

On June 3, 2011, the Council held its annual Awards Breakfast to present the Joey and  Champion for Children Awards in recognition of exceptional individuals who have made outstanding contributions to our system of early care and education, which is so integral to the future and vitality of our county. 

The Joey Awards were named after the late Joseph M. Ungaro, former Vice President of The Gannett Metro News Division and first President of the Board of Directors of the Child Care Council of Westchester.  The Council is pleased to once again congratulate the winners.

Sarah Brown of Greyston Child Care Center, Janett Grose of Carver Center, Jayne Lapadula of Lakeland Children’s Center, Elisabeth Patierno of Little Foxes Daycare, Michelle Soto of Early Einstein and Rosalie Woo of Kids are People

The Council also honored Mae Pleasant upon her retirement following a long career of invaluable service to the Child Care Council and the child care community.
