Got Kids?  Vote!
Speak Up for Children in the Voting Booth

The Child Care Council of Westchester is teaming up with the Westchester Children’s Association (WCA) and other organizations and individuals to elevate the importance of children and youth in the 2011 Westchester County elections.

The Vote for Kids Campaign will build public support for policies that promote thriving children and families along with the resources needed for services and supports.

We urge all our readers to join up today.  Go to the Vote for Kids Campaign where you can access voter registration/education materials and information.  You can also send an email to your elected officials reminding them to make children a priority.

WCA will be surveying candidates for the Board of Legislators on their positions concerning children and youth.   The report on the results, available later this fall, should be of vital interest to everyone who cares about children.   Kathy Halas, Council Executive Director observed that “children and youth make up nearly a quarter of the County’s population.  It’s important that those running for and serving in elected office understand and respond to the particular needs of their youngest constituents – especially during this difficult economy.  Children’s interests have to be represented in every election at every level of government – local, county, state and federal.  We urge everyone to get involved in the Vote for Kids Campaign right away.”
