Evaluating Programs > Make a Complaint

If you have concerns or want to make a complaint about a child care program call the Council and a staff person will take the information. If you think a program is operating without the proper license or registration certificate, this is also the basis for making a complaint.

To make a complaint call the
Council at: (914) 761-3456
and press “0”to be connected to the
operator. You will be transferred to
someone who can speak to you directly.

To report suspected child abuse or
maltreatment call
The Child Abuse Hotline:
(800) 342-3720

You may also call the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYS OCFS) for complaints about child care programs. Your complaint will be investigated, and if it is substantiated, staff will work with the provider to help ensure that any violation is corrected.
